Booking a Belfast Appointment
How Belfast appointments are booked
HM Passport Office does not publish waiting times by office. The booking step shows live appointment slots at all 7 offices, and you can choose any of them. Appointments can be booked up to 3 weeks ahead through gov.uk/get-a-passport-urgently. Changing one is free more than 48 hours ahead; a missed appointment is not refunded.
If Belfast is briefly fully booked, the next-nearest UK passport offices are Liverpool (ferry + train, or short flight) and Glasgow (short flight or ferry). For genuinely urgent cases, Glasgow flights from Belfast City typically run hourly and the cost can be lower than ferry fares.
