Same-Day UK Passport: Premium Service Costs £239.50 in 2026
Collect your passport within 4 hours of your appointment. Adults only. Very limited slots. Updated 25 October 2026.
How Premium Same-Day Works
Use the urgent passport service at gov.uk/get-a-passport-urgently. It checks you are eligible for premium, then you book, apply and pay in one journey. You need your old passport, a digital photo and a card.
The earliest appointment is 2 days after you apply, and you can book up to 3 weeks ahead. HM Passport Office does not publish waiting times by office. The booking step shows live appointment slots at all 7 offices, and you can choose any of them.
Bring your PEX reference and your old passport, which you hand in at the appointment, plus any documents the online service told you to bring. No printed photos: the urgent service takes a digital photo when you apply online.
After your appointment, processing takes approximately 4 hours. You collect your passport from the same office the same day.
Key Limitations - Read Before Booking
- Adult renewals only - Premium cannot be used for a child passport or a first passport. Children needing fast turnaround must use fast track (£156.50, ~1 week).
- Check every office - HM Passport Office does not publish waiting times by office. The booking step shows live appointment slots at all 7 offices, and you can choose any of them.
- Documents must be complete - If your paperwork is incomplete at the appointment, you will not receive a passport that day. The £239.50 fee is charged regardless.
- Earliest appointment is 2 days away - You cannot get a same-day appointment on the day of submitting your application.
- In-person collection only - Premium passports are collected at the passport office, not delivered by courier.
